Magzee
01 · The Problem
Gamers can tell instantly when an app wasn't actually designed for them — the visual language gives it away. This one needed to feel native, not adapted.
02 · The Process
40+ references from gaming and social apps before I touched a single screen.
Talked to 5 users, looked at 3 competitors.
Then designed the feed, profiles, and tournament flow with a consistent type and spacing system (Inter, 4-point grid) so nothing felt cobbled together.
03 · Key Contributions
Designed 10+ mockups across feed, profile, and tournament sections
Finalized 12+ production UI screens
Collaborated across 3 design review sessions shaping social and tournament flows
Established the visual direction the rest of the app's UI was built on
04 · The Outcome
12+ shipped screens that read as built-for-gamers, not adapted-for-gamers — which was the entire point.
